Birth of Mikao Usui

Mikao Usui is born in Taniai Mura, Yamagata District, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
Fundação do Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai
Mikao Usui abre uma clínica em Tóquio, onde começa a ensinar e praticar o sistema de cura energética que viria a ser conhecido como Reiki. Ele também funda a Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, a primeira organização formal de Reiki.

Mikao Usui falece após ter ensinado Reiki para mais de 2.000 pessoas.
Chegada de Reiki ao Havaí
Hawayo Takata, uma mulher nipo-americana, aprende Reiki com Chujiro Hayashi, um dos discípulos de Usui, no Japão. Ela é creditada por ter introduzido o Reiki nos Estados Unidos, especialmente no Havaí.
Expansão do Reiki nos EUA
Durante as décadas de 1960 e 1970, Hawayo Takata continuou a ensinar Reiki e formar novos mestres, espalhando a prática pela América do Norte. Ela iniciou 22 mestres de Reiki até sua morte em 1980.
Expansão para a Europa
Na década de 1980, Reiki começou a ser difundido na Europa, principalmente através de mestres formados por Hawayo Takata e seus discípulos. Entre os países que receberam a prática, destaca-se a Inglaterra e Alemanha.
Reiki em Outros Continentes
Na década de 1990, o Reiki começou a se expandir para outros continentes, como a América Latina e a África, através de mestres formados nos EUA e na Europa.
Reconhecimento pela OMS
Eme 1995, o Reiki foi reconhecido como uma prática de terapia complementar e alternativa pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), marcando um passo importante para o seu reconhecimento global.
