REIKI Systems
Reiki, as an energy healing practice, originated in Japan in the early 20th century with the system developed by Mikao Usui.
Since then, it has expanded globally and diversified into various branches or models.
These variants of Reiki often incorporate specific teachings and practices, reflecting the interpretation and innovation of the masters who developed them.
Although there are many Reiki systems, here are some of the most recognized and widely practiced around the world:
Usui Reiki (Usui Natural Healing System): The original Reiki system developed by Mikao Usui. It is the most widely practiced and serves as the basis for many other forms of Reiki. This system focuses on self-healing and spiritual growth, using symbols and mantras in its practice.
Traditional Japanese Reiki: A form that seeks to preserve and practice Reiki according to the original techniques and teachings of Mikao Usui, before the introduction of Reiki in the West. This form often includes practices such as meditation and breathing exercises, and emphasizes personal development and spiritual growth.
Western Reiki: Also known as Usui/Tibetan Reiki, this model includes elements of the original Usui Reiki, as well as additional techniques and symbols added by Reiki masters who brought the practice to the West. This form is characterized by the initiation of symbols and the transmission of teachings through master lineages.
Karuna Reiki®: Developed by William Lee Rand, Karuna Reiki® is known to be a system that includes additional Reiki symbols and is focused on compassionate action. This system is often used for deep healing and to resolve past life issues.
Shamballa Reiki: A modality of Reiki that emphasizes connection and multidimensional healing, including a strong emphasis on meditation and personal development. This system often includes practices related to ascension and spiritual awakening.
Gendai Reiki: A modern form of Reiki developed in Japan that combines elements of Traditional Japanese Reiki with practices adapted for the contemporary world. This form often includes practices related to energy cleansing and balancing.
Kundalini Reiki: This model focuses on the activation and awakening of Kundalini energy, along with Reiki healing practices, to promote healing and spiritual development. This system often includes practices related to chakra balancing and energy channeling.
Integrated Reiki: A system that combines Reiki with other healing practices and spiritual development techniques. This form often includes practices from other healing modalities, such as crystal healing or sound healing.
